functional nutrition health coach
Julie Gibens, CFNC
functional nutrition coach
I graduated from Mississippi State University with a master’s degree in Exercise Science, and the years that followed, I spent time training (not winning) multiple marathons, ½ marathons, and triathlons. My husband, Leighton, and I also hiked the grand canyon from rim to rim in 12 hours, which was the hardest of all the endurance accomplishments. When my four children finally reached school age, I went to work with Healthworks! Childrens Health Museum doing various jobs. I am now in private practice as a Functional Nutrition Coach helping clients find root cause solutions to health problems. I believe there is a gap between health care providers and patients, and I work to fill that gap. My passion is empowering others to take control of their own health. We are all on our individual journeys, and I am here to meet you where you are to become a healthier you. When going through the struggles of starting a private practice, a good friend reminded me:
“Julie, you have always been passionate about health and fitness. You have never once wavered from that.” A.S.
I truly feel a calling to share that passion and knowledge with others. I am the mother of four adult(ish) children. My favorite past times are hiking, especially National Parks, and playing in the kitchen to create nourishing meals.
